APPLY: Undergraduate scholarship in Denmark for Non- Eu students, 2016

University college  Lillebaelt, Denmark offers scholarships for non-Eu students for the year 2016 available to pursue undergraduate degree programme.
WORTH
This will cover tuition and contribute to living expenses while studying at UCL. The scholarship covers tuition for one semester (4 months), In addition, applicants will receive approximately 6000 DKK each month to contribute to their living expenses.
ELIGIBILITY
The following criteria must be met to be eligible to apply:
  • A citizen of a country outside European Economic Area Switzerland enrolled in a full degree higher education programme in their home country related to either nursing, social education or teacher education
  • Applicants are not eligible to apply for a scholarship if they:
  • Are studying in Denmark on the grounds of Bilateral exchange agreement
  • Have a legal claim to the rights of Danish citizenship
  • Are a student who is eligible for a grant in accordance with Danish Law regarding the state Education Fund
  • Are from an EU applicant country such as Turkey.

APPLY: Leadership Essay Contest 2016

Young African citizens currently residing on the continent between the age of 18-25 are invited to submit an essay for this year’s Leadership Essay Contest organised by UONGOZI Institute. The essay contest aims to provide a space for the youth across Africa and the next generation of leaders in the
WORTH
  • A grand prize of USD $2,000 will be awarded to the overall winner of the essay contest.
  • A total of five finalists will be selected. The finalists will be brought to Dar es Salaam to receive their awards at a prize giving ceremony to be held during the Africa Leadership Forum Dinner Gala on 28th July, 2016, which will be attended by former Heads of State and senior leaders from across Africa in the public sector, private sector and civil society.
  • The overall winner will be invited to read the winning essay at the event.
  • The essay will also be published on UONGOZI Institute’s blog and in one of the leading regional magazines in Africa.
ELIGIBILITY
  • The contest is open to all African citizens between the age of 18 – 25 years old, to write about their perspective on Leadership.

APPLY: The Commonwealth Photography Competition 2016

The Commonwealth theme for 2016, ‘An Inclusive Commonwealth’, celebrates the diversity of this community of nations, which is made up of more than two billion people. The Commonwealth Photography Competition aims to encourage new talent and showcase captivating images which help to represent the theme.

  • Commonwealth Photographer of the Year 2016:
    The photographer with the picture judged by a panel of judges to be the best overall will receive a cash prize of £1,000 (GBP).
  • Regional Awards:
    The best photographer from Africa, Asia, Caribbean and the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific will each receive a cash prize of £500 (GBP).
  • Highly Commended Award:
    The photographer with the entry which receives the most ‘likes’ on Instagram will receive £100 (GBP).
ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to citizens of Commonwealth member countries of all ages, and submitted photographs must be taken in a Commonwealth country.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at Bachelor Degree Level for Masters Degree applicants and for PhD candidates must possess CGPA 3.5/4.0 or very good result at Masters degree level in a similar field of intended PhD study. In addition, for post-doctoral programme, the selection will be evaluated based on the number of books produced, refereed/non refereed journals, portfolio and patent copyright. The Post-Doctoral candidate must have excellent reputation in research and possesses knowledge related to the research to be carried out.
